Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve lies in the lowlands of Nepal. Next town is Bhiratnagar. From here most expeditions start to Kangchenjunga, Makalu, or Mt. Everest. The Sun Koshi (river) is tame and wonderful in winter but wild and dangerous during monsoon seasons. It floods the hole territory and every year thousands of people loose their home for good. The riverine forest is in danger too because the floods take away the soil and make tall trees tip over into the waters.
